Now they say I owe them $510, when the loan amount was $300 --

I am at a loss. Not sure what to do. :(

Yeah, I just did. Well, they only have my home address. My phone number has been changed and is unlisted, and the work number they have is just for verifying employment, and I work in Michigan from home, and the main offices is in Maryland -- so they won't be able to harrass me except through mail and email.

They can go ahead and report me to teletrack or whatever --

-- they suck.

How much have you repaid them so far? Did you file a complaint with the AG? I know you closed your bank account so you are covered there. Keep us posted on how things are going. I personally have not dealt with this company but I know others have and someone may come along with better advice.

I believe they are a DBA for GFSIL....Ignore all calls and eventually they will go away...also filing a complaint with your AG and the FTC helps! Flood them with faxes and emails telling them to mark you paid in full...Give it about 6-7 weeks and they go aways once they realize that they are not going to intimidate you!

Yeah, I have three email addresses I am sending messages to. When I figure it all out, I only owe them $49. SOOOOOO, I told them that once they agree to settle for $49 sent with a postal money order via certified mail, that I will send them that. I overpaid loan #1 I took out with them by about $200 though, so I really don't feel like I owe them anything! And I told them I will NOT call them (they don't have my new number neeener-neener!). They can either email or mail me.

I thought they would just go away, but they didn't! They kept sending me periodic emails, which finally stopped about a month or so ago. They were also calling my work number about once every few weeks, but I never talked to them.

Then, around the middle of March, I received a call at work from a CA based in NJ, "The Offices of Laurence A. Hecker, Attorney at Law." Cashnet 500/Global Payday had turned the acct. over for collection. This CA kept calling at work and the one time I did speak to them, they made illegal threats, which I advised them of. They continued to call, and even sent a fax to my HR dept. requesting verification of employment, which included a request for my supervisor's name, my salary, employment dates, address of my company, etc. Fortunately, we don't have an HR dept. in our branch office, and the fax machine is in my office, so it didn't go any further.

But, if your main office is in Maryland, Sarah, then you might want to warn your HR dept. in case they send anything through.

I filed complaints with the Utah BBB, the Utah AG and FTC, and nothing happened, they didn't respond to any of the complaints, and as I mentioned, just turned the acct. over to a third-party collector who is notorious for violating fdcpa and have been sued over this.

My loan was $300, and I paid back $180 before defaulting. I went round and round with Cashnet via email advising of my state pdl laws and what I legally owed them, to no avail. Now the CD is saying I owe $570!!!!

Okay, the MD Compentroller just got with me -- they DO NOT honor any requests from PDL/QuickLoans/Etc. for wage garnishment or wage assignments or even for inquiry information.

They are even going to send me the copy of the letter they send to the companies in case they inquire saying they need an official court order, etc.

WHEW!
