That is something that you need to work with the CA on. I don't think they'll take it off your report unless the whole thing is paid for.

karen-I hope you have proof you have paid them! LVNV is a really shady company,I've been dealing with them for a year no. Write the firm you are sending payments to and request a current statement to show the payments have been made.Good Luck..Karen
Karen and credit reporting/updates
Karen-- I am with a collection agency (although not with WWR) and I am not sure if Weltman owns that account (as a debt purchaser or servicing it as an agency for the owner of the account), but unless they did the report to the bureau, they cannot issue an update to the bureau on that account. Accounts at collection agencies do not get updated to show paying as agreed-- because they are "charged-off"-- the only update that is made to them is to show whether it is paid in full or settled in full (paid for a lesser amount than the full balance). If you are trying to get additional credit while paying this to WWR, you could probably ask for a letter from them stating that you are on an arrangement and keeping it-- along with copies of your cleared checks. As one in the collection business, I can tell you that they might be slightly hesitant as some will ask for that kind of help, get it, and then stop paying their account. However, if you ask without being confrontational, you shoud be okay. Since it is out of the norm for an agency, the most common mistake I see is when a consumer calls in and insists on what they want and when they want it. This never goes well. But, if you take an approach that is more respectful (which should go both ways) and recognize that the agency doesn't have to provide this letter or assistance to you, they will probably go easy on you and not feel like they have to maintain an upper hand in the collector/consumer relationship since you aren't calling in and telling them what to do and thus, you are not threatening their collectorhood.
I know I am seen as the evil doer being on the collection agency side, but we aren't all that bad. I have enjoyed the forum provided by debtconsolidationcare. I stumbled onto it by checking on the agency with whom I work and found that I could offer a viewpoint from our company. I have found the moderators to be quite fair as cajunbulldog has challenged me with a few items and we have had good interaction. Obviously this company values assisting the consumer public, and I think that the collection side should be called to answer for certain issues.
I am familiar with WWR and think that they will give you a fair shake if you use more honey than vinegar. I know collectors aren't anyone's favorite people to be nice to, but they are people; I have always pushed our training to be mutually respectful and expect our collectors to be fair-- firm but fair, I suppose. If you should need any additional assistance, let me know and I will see if I can put you in touch with the right person to help you out.

I like Bill T Nonjudgemental Collector. It is nice to see a decent collector come here and not bash people only trying to deal with their debt situation. I want to say thank you, it is very nice! :D
