I believe that PDL's are illegal in NC...Here is what we need from you: Who did you borrow from? How much did you borrow from each company? How much have you paid to each company? NO YOU CANNOT GO TO JAIL FOR PDL'S...and no one here is going to judge you...I am in the same situation and if you answer my questions eitehr myself or another member can help you with this problem.

They are illegal in NC. There are some NC users here that can help you too. Many have had some degree of sucess getting their pdl's marked PIF in NC, since the laws are so clear about them not being allowed.

Flutter ~ I am in NC. Pdls are prohibited in NC. What you need to do is get out all your old bank statements and if you don't have them, even if your bank account is closed, the bank should still be able to get you copies.

If you have any old email address from any of these places, do not delete them for they will come in handy.

Make a list of each pdl that you have, how much you borrowed and how much you have paid. This will give you an idea how much you have paid toward the principal.

Are they still trying to debit your old account? Do you have another account opened that they are debiting? If they do not have any of your new account information, do not give it to them!!!

Let's start here...get this information together and we will go from there. Understand there is nothing they can do to you other than maybe turn you over to one of their collection agencies, but that is about it. You cannot go to jail or anything like that. These people are not licensed in the state of NC so they are operating illegally.

I am not going to overwhelm you with stuff, just take it one step at a time. Take a deep breath!!! It is going to be ok. Don't feel stupid or dumb because we had 6 pdls. It happens and most of us here have been there and some still are, but hey, things are better for us then they were. I will keep an eye out here for your information.

Kyside has a wealth of info and has done alot of work with her state in dealing with these ipdls. You should pm her, she is great. You need to get your complaints in to your state's Attorney General's office.

2ndband is also would be good help, since she is also from NC and had some success with her pdls.

And I am being corrected once againl. What would I do if nobody corrected me, guess be wrong alot.

I only suggested that she ALSO look to 2ndband for help, since she is from that state and has had recent success with pdls.
