I am not exactly how sure you would go about handling this...It could be a case of the wrong number in which case you would want to call and speak to them to see who they are looking for and then inform them that they have the wrong number....Or if they are looking for you, you definately would want them to validate the debt....I guess if I were in your shoes and wanted to know I would just call them to find out why they were calling....Especially if you are absolutely certain that you have no outstanding debt...

I agree and will call the 800 number. I have a feeling it's not about debt collection but a sneaky way of getting around the "do not call" list. At any rate I will find out. Thanks.

"Do not call" applies on telemarketing calls. debt collectors don't have to abide by it. But yes, if they are calling you for wrong reasons, you must make them stop.
