Retailers National Bank has appeared on my Credit Report but I have not applied for Credit. Do you know who they are and why they would be looking into my credit history? Also, do you have a number where I might be able to contact them (Minneapolis based).

Thanks,

Rachel

Unfortunately cease and desist letters don`t apply to the original creditor. It only applies to a 3rd party collector. You will need to wait till Target sends account to a collection agency and then send a cease and desist letter . Be aware though that by sending a cease and desist letter to some collectors that will tick them off and sometimes trigger a law suit because you gave them no way of communication to collect on the debt.

Mobile - the best way to avoid answering old topics is to only answer those that come up when you click on "posts since last visit" or the most recent that show up under "unanswered posts".

However, sometimes the "unanswered posts" also contain duplicate postings from new members or guests, so to avoid answering something that's been posted more than once, check the number of posts under the poster's name when you open the unanswered post - if it's more than one, you might want to check their other posts to be sure you're not providing an answer to something that has already been posted and answered.

Hope that helps!

I just pulled my equifax report only to see TNB as an open account. This account was opened 1998 with a 200.00 credit limit. I closed the account in 2004 paying it completely off. I can't seem to get them to stop reporting on this account. because there is no balance due and 0 payments made it effects my credit negatively. How can I get this off my report. Thank you for your help.

Struggling with RNB, Retailers National Bank (or is it now Target National Bank?). Had an account that was charged off with them approximately 7-8 years ago, settled the account, problem solved.

Problem is, not only is RNB continuing to report the account negatively, they have also periodically updated the status of the account, which as far as I can tell updates the date of the status. I can't understand it. I've disputed the account several times but no luck.

Suggestions?
