i recently looked up my cerdit report online and it still has account that have been paid/settled listed as negative. i would like to have those taken off. How do i go about getting that done.
also for the account that still have balances, the amounts are incorrect and they are not updated. how do i get that resolved?
thanks

You'll need to contact the CRA and tell them which items you're disputing and what you believe to be the correct information. Once you've done that, they'll investigate and report their findings to you, as well as any corrective action they may have taken.

Regardless of whether a debt has been paid, it remains on your credit report for seven years after the DLA. If you'd like it to come off earlier than that, usually the best thing to do is to negotiate that with the creditor before you pay them off.

so i contacted the CRA and not only they have my birth day wrong but also all three reports have conflicting info.
i also got a letter from a creditor stating that they will notify the CRA to have the accout removed from my file. a year and half later it is still on it.
the account that have been paid are still showing as negative although they are marked paid. how do i go about having that removed or changed to positive?
thank you very much for the responses.

Unfortunately, all that conflicting info is the rule, not the exception. Consumers (all consumers, not just the ones having problems) generally have to check their reports about once a year to stay on top of this kind of garbage.

As to changing the status of an account, you are unlikely to be able to get that done for an account that's been paid in full. The only ones who can change that are the creditors, and if you've paid them off, they have no reason to do you any favors. If you still owe them money, though, you may be able to negotiate with them; i.e., tell them you'll pay them if they agree, in writing, to remove the account from your credit reports.

If you still have the letter from the creditor saying they'll remove the account from your report, make a copy of the letter and send it to each agency where the account still appears on your report, then ask them to remove it. They might or might not, but if you don't ask, they definitely won't. Good luck.
