Hi Everyone,
I am new to this site but it looks very helpful. Are there any consolidation companies that will let you keep your credit cards with an open balance? I am trying to get some info. for a friend. Thank you in advance for any help.

It's your choice which account you want to include in the consol
It's your choice which account you want to include in the consolidation plan. You can keep one account outside the program for emergency use. Make sure that you are regular in your payments within the due dates so that you don't feel the need to put that one in the plan. Usually, the accounts are frozen or blocked as long as they are in the plan. This is done with the purpose not to allow additional debts while you are following a fixed repayment plan.
