I have paid off my debts but still they remain on my credit

I have paid off my debt with my tax returns. Student loans, phone bills, medical, etc But some of my bills remain on my credit report. I can't get my score to raise at all. Why is that?

The credit companies need to update the latest payment status with the credit bureaus. Call each of the companies and ask them to report your payments to the CRAs. You can also dispute the items with the CRA directly and make them investigate with the information providers. The items in your credit report must be shown as it stands now. If the companies don't update, they are violating the FCRA laws. Hire an attorney and sue them.
