I have not even spoken to MTE Financial since they auto debited me twice in two weeks, instead of the twice a month like I get paid. I sent emails showing the ACH transactions, but never heard a response. I then closed my acct one week after the unauthorized debit. I received the following email today, without even referencing legal action or dealing with any of their reps once closing my bank acct.
They are even letting me choose the date to pay the balance. Although it is probably $65 more than should be allowed in the state of Tx I think I will do it just to avoid anymore hassels with this company.

the original loan was $300, $150 was paid over 2 weeks in renewal fees ($75 each) then another renewal fee is coming due Monday (I did not include fees for the 15th of April as I closed my acct, and they had already ACH the funds the week before (1 week early) In Tx it should only be $12/100 so I overpaid the first 2 renewals by $78. If that went to principal that means at the end of the month the balance should be $249. 300 - 78 = 222 + 27 = $249
$315 - $249 = $66 I will overpay (i think i have this all figured right, it could actually be another 27 higher as I am going to repay on 05/15 so if was with them there could be more fees I guess)

Thank You

Double Drop, follow Leahs advice. MTE aka Rio Resources is a totally illegal scumglomerate of about 12 different PDLs. Pay them what you legally owe them by MONEY ORDER ONLY and move on. Do not let them intimidate you. They may turn you over to Accounts Receivable Management for collections. If they do send them a detailed debt validation letter. They will not be able to validate it and they will go away. What state do you live in?

Crap. That means you now have an MTE loan. Wonderful. And, I'm sure it's too late to "decline" the loan. You know that they are unlicensed/illegal, right? Did you use the funds? Are they gone? If the funds are still there, I personally would tell them you'll pay them $300 principle amount only that was deposited into your account and be done with it. Of course, closing my account the entire time. They are now going to make your life miserable. How long ago did they deposit the funds? Are the funds gone now?

sadie, as pyb posted, do not get another pdl. You'll be worse off. Of course you didn't screw the money away that you received. I'm sure you did pay bills, as we all did when we received funds. All I want to stress here is that MTE is unlicensed/illegal. They are not licensed to do business anywhere in the United States, so they are going to be ruthless. You need to send them a letter revoking any further debit authorization from your bank account. I understand that now your account is in the negative. You need to get your bank account straight first. Okay? They need to put a hard debit block on it so that nothing will be able to go through your account. Because MTE will continue to hit your account and it will just keep getting further and further into the negative. Not good. Do not communicate with MTE via telephone. You need everything documented. As I stated, they are illegal. So try not to communicate via telephone. Use email or USPS only. But, please, go to your bank and get it so that they put a hard debit block on that account. Otherwise MTE is going to keep putting their debits through. Can you do this and then come back here and let us know the status? Then we can help you out with MTE. Please get to the bank first so you're not going to be put further in the hole. We can help you here.
