Cashnet500 Debited $590 Out of my New Bank Account

They continued to occassionally call and send their stupid emails with subjects like "Tax Returns are Here" and "There is a Problem with Your Checking Account."
I closed my other banking account, so that their fraudulent company could not access it. Well, I applied for a loan the other day with my new account. I had no idea it was a sister company of Cashnet's. They have like 20 "sister companies." Of course, I was denied for the loan because it shows that I am in collections with CashNet. I didn't think anything of it.
Then today on payday, I see they debited $590 from my new bank account. I filed an ACH dispute with my bank and will receive a provisional credit in 3 to 5 business days. I am also going to close my account and open up a new one with my new account.
I could not believe CashNet's response when I called them about this. They claim they have the right to do this because I applied for a loan with one of their sister companies. It gets better.
The manager claimed that my bank, Washington Mutual, will "probably credit your account because they are a bunch of pussies and their bank is a namby pamby regional bank masquerading as a national bank and they're going bankrupt. I deal with them all the time and they are nothing but pussies." He went on to say that they would continue debiting my account under different names once the credit is issued until I close my account. But according to him since I am a "loser who will be too embarrassed to keep banking at that bank after this incident, I'll eventually get a new bank account and apply for another loan and they'll do it again."

Chris, It sounds like you got ahold of the famous Tim from Cashnet. My advice would be to contact the Attorney General and file a complaint. I know that payday lending is legal in Texas however if they get enouggh complaints hopefully they will do something. Furthermore they should not have harassed you like that. PLEASE PLEASE stay away from internet loans they are trouble. NEVER give your account number to anyone else. They will not stop until they bleed you dry. Best Wishes KYSIDE38

they did the same thing with my new account. I closed my old one out and a month later I noticed they had debitted my new account. I am not sure how they found out about my new account. I had to do some research to find out which loan company it was. You will probably want to ask your bank to block all transactions from them in the future.

When you apply for a new pdl loan, numerous companies are given you banking account information and if it so happens to be one that claims you owe them money, they see it as a free pass to your checking account...

I know. the only thing is that I have not applied for a new payday loan since I closed my account. I have definently learned my lesson and will never ever do this again
OMG!
Oh my God! I'm tripping out reading this thread! First of all, the phone call from the pdl just blows me away. I'd be filing all kinds of complaints on that alone! Second, I'm amazed that they can do this because it's a "sister company". Oh my Lord, have mercy. The many d/b/a's that these pdl's have, you'd NEVER know if it was a "sister company". Third, I'm going to assume the member who posted that they opened a new account, but the pdl debited the new account, that they opened a new account at the same bank. Not a good thing! One point that everyone should be aware of when closing their account - don't open a new account at the same bank. Go to a completely different bank and open a new account. Of course they're going to get your information if you stay with the same bank. Oh my Lord. These pdl's are nightmares.

actually the account that I opened was at a completely different bank. I am assuming they did a skip trace and was able to find my new account info. I was able to get the money back from my new bank.
