Try pm 4u.bryan law he is having the same problems and trying to work out a spam filter. They are getting hit really bad over there! Good Luck...I need to get over and join...I have always loved the law...and God knows I love a good debate...LOL :wink:

I think being private is the only way to avoid it but I think even if it private they can still spam you :(

Well now come on Law...you are listed as a soon to be attorney in California....you ain't half bad lookin' :wink: and you say you are single.....of course they are going to be after you. :lol: At least you can get into yours....I can't even access mine....I think I am going to leave there myself. I am going to be very busy here as well as running my blog protesting the war. Unfortunately, I can't post a link here to mine because I am also using it to endorse my Presidentail candidate! I just am not really pleased with my space at all. But you seem to be doing well. I also had to uninstall the IM...it was causing conflict with something on my puter. But I have a ton of software from when I was a student and did designing....so I run into that all the time! Good Luck.....hope things are better with the bridge and the commute problem!

Myspace -> account settings -> privacy settings -> Friend Requests - Require email or last name (check the box) -> change settings (click the button).

This should do the trick.

Thanks Moondanzer. I haven't down loaded the messenger. LOL yes, it wouldn't be bad if those invites were real, but they usually lead to some site such as "adultchat" or whatever. The spammers some how gear them to men and women. All of mine are women, but I have a friend who is also in San Francisco, who says she gets spammed with some sort of real estate "get rich quick" ads.

I don't have the myspace messenger either. I have no idea how it works. I just use AIM messenger. And I have been getting a lot of friend requests lately too from spammers who wanna make me rich quick LOL

Funny, but all the boggus friend requests have slowed lately. I did find a long lost friend! Interesting, like a needle in a haystack, you know how networking is on there. I found my friend's daughter (which I didn't even know she had) on someone's "friends list". She looked so much like my friend at that age, that I wrote saying "Look, I know this is a shot in the dark, but you look so much like [my friend] at your age, are you related?"

Really? Whenever you stop getting the requests, they start back up for me. I have had like 10 this weekend. I love finding long lost friends on there!!! Very cool about your friend's daughter! I haven't been spending much time on myspace though, been spending more time here :)

LOL, I guess I spoke too soon. I had about 10 today. So that any of you who might visit my site doesn't think I'm trying to meet young women, Kim is a friend from here, and the very young woman with big blue eyes is the daughter of a long-time friend of mine.

Leah, LOL I don't know how they figure out who to spam with what. Funny, the ones I get are all obviously fake (professional photos, suggestively dressed, etc).
