Recovering Banks Fees

I had overdraft charges above 800.00 that my well know National Bank would not return to me. Because they would not close my account when I had my account in the positive, I filed a complaint with the OCC.(Office of the Controller of Currency for the Federal Gov't.) The next time the banks collection folks called and I told them this they agreed to reverse all the charges. I was given this advise from our states Chief Financial Officers Office. The State has no jurisdiction over National banks. All this happened when my employer decided to change direct deposit systems and the checks went "live" while he was away and sat on his desk. All the PDL people kept attacking with differenty names and amounts. They are still doing it even though the account is on "deposit only" status.
So if any of you feels your bank is charging you when it is not your fault< try the OOC. You can find them on line.

I do not know what the laws say about bank charges a refusal to stop ACH withdrawals. The branck manager see it as a bottom line profit for the branch apparently. They Hate seeing the OCC come knocking however because they can put them under a microscope if they see the need to. I would go on line and fill out the form. You have to be able to print sign and fax. They won't take an electronic signature because they are not legal. Unless your a PDL company.
