Also do they have to take what you can send or do you have to pay what they want you to pay? I can't afford much right now as I'm paying on other bills and he told me that I would have to send 50.00 a month and I just can't send that much right now.
Can someone please help me?
Thanks in advance

Hi Needing Help,
You can ask your debtor to send some written document before you pay and whatever be the process of payment, don't forget to keep all the records, so that they cannot make any unfair demand in future.
If you feel that it is tough to repay your pending bills, you can go for a consolidation program, which will combine all your unsecured debts under one loan amount and will help you to pay it off with easy monthly installments.
For more information, feel free to ask in debt consolidation care forum.

hi
i mean just pay them what you can when you can and get it in writting before you make the payments because you dont want to set yourself up for something you know is not in written agreement i suggest you do what bryan says as well thats some good and useful advice
Why pay more?
I never have understood this concept. If Im already having problems paying bills, why should I pay and extra $6-$20 dollars to "expidite" payments?
They are just trying to bully you. I would just mail in the payment for $0.37, and put the other $6.58 towards paying off another bill or equally more worth while cause (unless of course you feel it is worth it for the little peice of mind knowing its doen and taken care of).
But if you are on a continuing payment plan, just mail it in, why line someone else's pockets?
You have a right to send a certified check or money order. Tell
You have a right to send a certified check or money order. Tell them that MoneyGram is out of the option because it doesn't protect you as the consumer. A certified check will prove to you right away that they received the funds apon their cashing it. Tell them you have a legal right to send funds via certified check and that is the only way for you to make a payment.
Even in legitiment companies, the funds can get lost somewhere, they (MG) could have punched in a wrong account number, or the collector could have punched it into a wrong account, and then the payment is lost for weeks while "they investigate".
Ask them if they will subtract the fees from your amount due. I
Ask them if they will subtract the fees from your amount due. If they refuse, tell them you are not responsible to pay those fees and have no choice but to mail it to them.
Regardless, keep track of that money you send. If its a money-gram, keep your transaction receipt. If you send a money order, send it certified with tracking and keep your receipt.
