i have several pdl and was having furnace problems, now they are taking all of my money for refinancing and i having trouble paying my living monthly expenses, such as utilities , morgage. Today while going thru my account i had submitted my gas bill and somehow i have a unknow charge that came out of my account. When talking to the bank, the lady was very polite and ask if i had any pdl, because she has seen this before, where they automically enroll you in this product. Her suggestion was to close this account soon, because she will reverse the charge but she is unable to refund any nsf fees. She also have seen this fee as a recurring monthly fee that my her reason of closing the account. But my problem is also several years ago i had problems with someone have got hold of my checking acct info and put my account in a bad situation. The bank was able to charge off and open a new account but by writing off amount of over $100 i was put in chex systems in which they state they policy. Now i am having trouble opening a new account from this and my paycheck is only direct deposit Any advice is needed

You MUST close that account so you can deal with these PDLs on your own terms. They will threaten you with all kinds of stuff. Do not be intimidated. You will be in the drivers seat. What state do you live in and who are the PDL companies. You will find all your answers right here.
As far as Chex, there are many banks that do not use them. A list can be found on this site.
Chances are you have already paid these companies more than they are allowed to collect under the laws of the state where you live!

I just realized that you said your Paycheck was direct deposit only. I do not believe that is legal. For example if you close one account and open another it takes at least one pay period before your direct can be set up. Or in my case I closed my account and asked my company for a live check until I found the right bank and it was no problem. What if you were unemployed for a long time before you wer hired and had your account closed. You mean to say that they would not pay you until you had money to open an account. Where do they expect you to get the money from?
