Hi Catherine. Welcome to the forum. Most of us have been in the "payday loan trap." The first step is to get control back of your money. To do this, you will need to stop payments on debits or, what many of us end up doing, close your account and open a new one. The second step is to decide which are storefront and which are internet loans. More than likely, the storefront loans are legal and will need to be dealt with first. Contact the companies, explain your situation and work out a payment arrangement with them. Next, check to see if the internet companied are legal in your state. To do this, go to this site:
paydayloaninfo.org
If they are legal, call and set up payment arrangements with them. If they are not, you're only required to pay back the principal you borrowed. If you need help, let us know. Good luck.

Can you tell us who you had loans with? How much did you borrow? How much have you repaid so far? I am sure someone from CA with experience with pdl's will come along soon. In the mean time, please remember that Bass and Ass. makes many illegal threats. They cannot take you to jail, they cannot "download" you, etc.

SJM, FTR, VC Funding and Plaza Proc all are 300.00 each. I have one more for BGM for 300.00 but I am able to pay that one for what I owe to Westbury tomorrow when I get paid.
I have paid the interest at least 4 or 5 times on each one. The biweekly amt debited to my acct was 90.00...So yes in my stupidity I paid 900.00 per month for a 1500.00 loan. In retrospect, I would rather owe 1500.00 to Tony Soprano!!!
