I was promised it would stop, the phone calls, odd hours of the night. But it didn't And we were paying till it was all paid. LMP stated it wasn't all paid, they made threats of jail time, contacting family members for us, They spoke as if they were above us. We knew we got caught up in the check cashing game, but, They acted like as if they were gawd. What gives, made lots of threats, and we couldn't even talk when we were on the phone with them before. I told them I am going to seek legal action and they made more threats, they stated they didn't say anything about going to jail bt, that was only when I heard that that is illegal. We paid our debt, we settled and know they want the rest or else. Who practices business like that?? Don't they have families to go home too?? We lost our daughter when she was 7 months and we were in financial burdens. Our daughter had a one of kind rare chromosone abnormality, She got septic from a purfirated bowl and paased away into jesus arms, we explained what we were going thru and they just kept interupting like our word was nothing.

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter!
Are these internet loans? Because if they are, rest assured, nothing can be done to you and you definately will not go to jail...If you have the time and energy let us know what companies you are dealing with, how much you borrowed, how much you have paid each company and what state you are in

I am so sorry about your loss. To have these creepy collectors makes it that much harder to deal with. First, you should know they cannot make you go to jail. For them to even threaten that is illegal. What company are you dealing with? Is it an internet PDL or storefront PDL? How much did you borrow and how much did you pay back including fees, etc.? Finally, what state do you live in? We can help.

Sorry for the loss of your daughter.

If you can prove the violations, you may be able to sue for damages. You can still file complaints with the BBB and your state's attorney general. Although, without proof, little may result from your complaints, but the more that are filed, the more aware the state becomes of the "alleged" abuse by these businesses.
