can the payday loan people really garnish your wages to pay

Paula,welcome to the forums. You have come to the right place. First off, what state do you live in? Are your payday loans internet or storefront? What companies? How much have you borrowed/paid back so far? If you answer these questions we will be able to help you :)

I believe the only way they can garnish your check is if they take you to court and get a judgment against you. I know there is something else though. Something you may have signed saying it's ok to take from your check without going to court. A vol. wage assignment. Something like that. You would have to revoke that. You would need to send them a copy of that and give a copy to your employer.

You can revoke a voluntary wage assignment simply by sending a letter to that effect.

Depending on the legality of the payday stores, and how far they want to take it to the next level ...

In my experience, when a debtor has made it clear to me they don't intend to pay me back, and then they revoke their wage assignment to boot, my next step is always to send it to my attorney for a lawsuit; which a lawsuit can add $4-500 to the balance.

hi forum i am back now i am getting calls from paycheck today and paycheck now, for 130 dollars i owe both of them apiece and tgi who are they they said i owe them 400 dollars i only borrowed 200, they said they will settle for the 200 dollars i borrowed plus 60 dollars, now my questions to the forum is with the 200 dollars i paid 60 dollars 3 times so i do not owe them but 20 dollars, so what to do about that? paycheck today sent me to teltrack, also paycheck now both i only owe 130 a piece. what to do and i keep getting a call from over seas.

how and when do you collect for the points you earn on the froum they we ourselves keep up with them or do the froum know.?
