Why Transunion?
Date: Tue, 05/08/2007 - 20:45
I'm new to the site and I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, but I heard from one of your assistants, thank God, and I'm awaiting copies of my credit reports from all 3 agencies. The gentleman assisting me asked me to send him a copy of the Transunion report...why Transunion? (I received a letter from LVNV and would like to see if they've attached anything to my credit report.) Thanks. dj

I am not sure on that. I am sure someone will be able to help you better on your question.
I do know that most of the places I deal with only use the transunion report. When I am denied credit of any kind the letter that is sent to me tells me to contact transunion. Maybe thats why.
I wish you well and hope things get better for you.

If you're getting all three bureaus, I'm not sure why the guy wouldn't just want to see all three for comparison.
Other than that, it's just a matter of personal preference. There are a lot of companies who only report their account info to Transunion and not the other 2 (why, I don't know?). For that reason, I think Transunion tends to have more information on it than the others, and will list accounts that might not be showing up on TRW or Equifax. From a personal standpoint, I think Transunion reports are formatted better and easier to interpret. But that doesn't really matter if you're giving a copy of the report to this guy, because Transunion will make your report user-friendly. (Someone who actually pulls your credit doesn't get the user-friendly version, they get a whole bunch of codes).

I believe I am the person in question. From what I remember you had some reporting errors and I asked you to get all three bureaus to see how everything is being reported. It seems that you originally had some issues with stuff on transunion report. I beleive our original plan was to get reports and you would remove personal info from the accounts in question and post it for myself and others to look at to determine if everything is reporting correctly.

Do you have a past debt that is now with LVNV Funding for collections? Go through your credit report from all the bureaus and see if there are any inaccuracies.
It looks like LVNV Funding has done the debt validation of your account by sending the letter. Please review the details if there is anything to dispute and then make the payment arrangements.
LVNV
Hi guys. I received a ltr from LVNV stating that they purchased my acct from Itt Consumer Financial Corp. whom I dealt with back in the late 80's or early 90's. I found you guys out here and decided to enlist your assistance in dealing with this matter. On my own I requested copies of all 3 reports; left a vcmsg w/Debtcc and received a call back. I was just wondering why the gentlman assisting me specified Transunion as the report he'd like to review. When we spoke on yesterday I was at lunch and perhaps a follow up call is needed, but since I was out here I thought I'd inquire about his request. They're making a settlement offer but I'm fighting...because of the length of time it's been and I've not had any issues from Itt themselves. There is a statute of limatations involved here isn't there? I'm fighting...! dj
