Can you also request a compamy to validate or is this only for ca. The reason i ask is there is a one bank on my cr that i havent heard of so i was going to send them a validation letter. But need to know if i can because all i have seen are for the ca.

Get the status of your account from the bank because based on that information, they are reporting on your credit. You have every right to ask for the latest status of your account. In case, they can't show you anything, get their item removed from the credit file since it will be treated as an unauthorized reporting.

Original creditors do not have to respond to validation letters. What you want to do is send a verification letter directly to bank asking for information on account since you are unsure if it is even yours.Send it certified return receipt. If they give you any problems, remind the that under the Facta amendment to the FCRA you are allowed to dispute directly with the creditor.
