hi guys how r u? i am currentely 12,000 in debt with 7 credit cards , i am also 2 months behind in my payments i am way over my head in making these payments, i was wondering what are some of the companies you guys have had good luck with. oh and also if this helps i have 5000.00 savings which i am willing to use to pay off my cards s long as a company can get me at 50% of my balance. is this wise, and also i was thinking about calling this company that the website comes from, or i was lookng at debt settlement usa since they let u handle your money as they get deals from your crediters. so i guess im confused as to which way to go ,i sick of these bills and just want to get rid of them but i would like to use a company with a good track record, and as far as using my money that i have saved up i figured migh be a good leverage point to the credit card companies. plz let me know what u guys recommend, and who to use to negotiate with my crediters. thank you

If I were in your place, I will first call the credit companies and try to negotiate for a good deal. Since you know how much you can afford each month, you might make them work on your terms. If this doesn't work, then you can look for professional help from a settlement company. But first try out your own proposal. I say this because I was able to make my creditors work on my terms and didn't need any help from a settlement company.

Good advice from Howard and Bony. If you do decide to go with a settlement company, please, please research them very thoroughly. There are a lot of bad companies out there and a lot of horror stories about accounts going to collections, judgements being filed, etc. Since you signed up for this forum, if you put your phone number in, a debt counselor should be contacting you shortly to discuss options. There is no obligation to talk to the counselor. Welcome to the forums!
