UCL "sneaky" checks
Date: Fri, 05/11/2007 - 16:35
You don't know how valuable this forum is. I have not yet closed my checking account. I have to wait until next week to make sure all my actual checks clear. I will be closing down my Bank of America account next week as well. I allowed the extensions from those 2 PDLs to go through and when I close the account then I will start contacting them revoking ACH, etc. I have read where UCL is sneaky and will send a check through. How long after the default did that happen? Can anybody share that with me? I was supposed to pay half today $88.00 and the rest next payday but I called them and they agreed to the full amount next payday. Do you think they will try and sneak a check through so soon? I just defaulted 2 weeks ago. Any advice? I also got an "extension" from One Click Cash who agreed to let me pay my $80.00 ($50 prinicpal/$30 finance charge) next payday. I hope they behave. Should I req PIF on both of these accounts since I have overpaid on both in the fees? Or should I wait until the account can be closed before I rock the boat? I am trying to buy time so I can deal with them.

Mine was a few weeks after I started having their transactions reversed, I think. No notification or nothing. I had not heard from them in a long time and then one day I happened to call the number for my bank to see what my balance status was and there was a "debit" for a certain amount and when I called the bank, it was a "check". By the time I found out about it, it was too late to have it reversed so tried to get to to be returned, but no go. So was screwed out of $65. Of course the check said I had "authorized" the payment, but didn't/

Be aware that United Cash loans is one of the DBA names of Rio Resources. There have been huge complaints against them in this forum.

UCL did it on the next date that I was to be paid...they tried to submit 5 paper checks at once!

The bank didn't want to help you probably because they were collecting those big ole OD fees that they charge. I tell you, they got you coming and going!

Ya know and now they want 1600 bucks from me for charges that I tried to tell them were not rightfully incurred! But I learned my lesson the hard way, I wish I didn't even need a darn bank!

DD is good to have though. Many times checks don't show up in the mail like they are suppose to and when someone is out of town, at least they can still get their money. We encourage all our employees to get DD. It is not required, but recommended.

Yeah, really I don't know what I would do without my direct deposit. It sure beats waiting around on a paper check and you always know how much is going into the bank. At my work it is required. But for those that don't want bank accounts (I'm not one of them) it really stinks!!! I like my husband's dd because if he didnt have it, he would not get a paper check till Friday but with dd the money is in our account on Thursday morning. :)

5 checks at once! Wow. Now I'm a little more scared than I was before. Was it only on your payday or just like in the middle of the week? So far UCL have agreed to have me pay off what they say I owe which is $175.00. (It's probably more like they owe me money). If I don't close the account (which I will) I may just pay them to get them off my back. Any one have any luck having them mark PIF? I am also having trouble figuring out how much I've overpaid. The original loan was for $200.00. The extension is $60.00 for 4 extensions and on the 5th you pay the interest and buy down by $50.00 towards the principal. I only had 2 more payments to go before they were paid off. I live in AZ and interest on a $200.00 loan should only be $30 with only 3 rollovers allowed. Also, you're only allowed one loan out at a time. I know, I lied about that but sometimes you get desparate. Does any one know if UCL is licensed in AZ? I didn't see them on the list. Nor did I see One Click Cash. I am in the same situation with One Click Cash, however, I didn't realy default with them. They just allowed me to skip a payday. I'm not sure how to handle them either. That was also $200.00 and I had already rolled over 6 times. Any advice? Should I send requests to them to mark PIF or do I wait until my account is closed?

Mama, I have had no luck with UCL at all. The only luck I have had with them is they have stopped calling me. I called them a couple weeks ago to find out my status and they said I was still delinquent and they were still trying to debit my old account, which is closed. They won't respond to my AG complaint but they told me they did. When I checked with my AG, they said they have not heard a word from them.
Well, I closed my bank account right before I went into default
Well, I closed my bank account right before I went into default with them. They did try to hit my closed account a couple of times after that. Have you written them stating not to debit your account except for the authorized charges?
