Dealing with a CA for the first Time...NCO
Date: Sun, 05/13/2007 - 18:49
Volvo says NCO has it. The number I called has just an answering machine. I left a number and got no call back. Credit reports still show volvo not CA. Ids that Normal?
Any ideas and how to get this cleaned up and look better on Credit Report?

Send Nco the letter in my signature to validate the debt.Send it certified mail return receipt. If you would like to attempt a settlement, contact original creditor and ask them to recall debt to inhouse collections. Then you can attempt to do a settlement for either better reporting or deletion of negative information from report.

Volvo and NCO
Volvo said sold debt to NCO but NCO does not show on my reports just Volvo.....The number provided by Volvo goes to NCO but just an answering machine.
Do you still recommend same Bulldog?
IF NCO owns but shows as charge off by VOlvo...
1 IS credit report correct or shoudl it show as NCO now...?
2. Do I create a problem by bringing this issue to NCO's attention....
3. CAn I do anything to get Volvo to get it back when they say they have sold it...
4. Sorry if the questions are redundant or show my ignorance but I value your input....

Hey nothing's ever redundant--that's why we're here! My take is to send it whomever's listed on your credit report--and that would be Volvo, right? Cajun??

Assuming NCO does own the debt, my goal would be to keep NCO off of the credit report (through negotiations), once they've validated the debt.

I would think it is better to be proactive, rather than reactive. This could help in regards to negotiations for the entry you want NCO to report. I don't think this will go unnoticed by them for the length of the SOL.

No...if the debt was definitely not assigned but sold as Volvo states, then will no longer be able to deal with Volvo on the matter. If the debt was only assigned to NCO for collection, Volvo has the choice of dealing with you, not the other way around.

Ignorant, no. Uninformed, yes...but you're fixing that each minute you spend on this site. Heck, at one point or another, most if not all of us were uninformed about this stuff.

If Nco now owns debt entirely, then you must deal with them. That means the kid gloves come off and not to trust anything unless it is in writing.Send your dv letter certified return receipt to their office. If volvo is still on report,it should show a zero balance and a notation that it was sold. They are allowed to keep it as a negative status. If Nco is not on your reports yet, look in your inquiries section to see if they have been pulling. Most cas will be noticed in the inquiry section before they actually place an account on your report.
