Have any of you received any threating calls from a man in New Jersey named Travis(who has an accent)who said he would call the police if I don't pay what I owe from Arrowhead Investments.

I have not personally but I know from my own experiences that he is blowing smoke...you cannot be arrested for defaulting on a PDL...arrowhead is a horrible pdl place(as most of them are) What state are you in? How much did you borrow and how much have you paid to them in so called fees?

They will not have you arrested. Have you checked the laws of your state in reference to you payday loan? You might want to check that out and then look at how much you borrowed from them and how much you have paid back. Some states, payday loans are illegal and in some states, roll overs are not permitted and also a lot of places have a limit on what can be charged for fees. Might want to check it out.

Sounds like Arrowhead is using United Pay now. (They usually send their collections to Bass.) Don't worry. United Pay is just a call center in India. (The New Jersey number is just a termination point for their VOIP connection to the U.S.) The collectors barely speak English and can be pretty funny when you get them going. (I swear one of them that called me once had a heart attack on the phone while he was screaming how I "stole" money from I-TJF even though I had paid them 3 times what I borrowed by then.) When one of them told me I was going to be arrested, I told him go ahead. When he called back the next day I started screaming at him that he was a liar, he had promised to have me arrested and didn't keep his word, so how could I possibly trust him to give poor I-TJF back their money if I paid.

Never heard from them again . . .

I talked to a neighbor that had problems with payday loans a few years ago and when they could call her and harrass her, she wouldn't say anything but pick up her whistle and BLOW! She said after a few times they quit calling her. One time she said she answered the phone and they told her, "Don't blow that whistle" and as soon as they said that she did!
