Did anyone have a problem with the on-line TenDollar Payday Co. They took money out of my account as Rio Resources and MTE 8 times between Sept. & Jan. 2007. $90.00 to $140.00 every two weeks. I was unable to reach them by phone or email. Several people sent in complaints but I can't find them. Please respond if you had same problem. My bank says they counter with I authorized them to do this. 10 withdrawals is contrary to CA state law. Did anyone receive a resolution?
Thanks for your response.

I went to my bank filled out the paperwork on March 27, 2007 and was told I needed to close my account and open a new account but just found out that my old account was not closed until May 14th and was in collections. Most of my claims were denied because I was supposed to file these claims within 60 days of the unauthorized withdrawal from my account. Now my bank states that Ten Dollar Payday, Rio Resources, and MTE had my authorization to pull these funds. My initial contract was for 2 weeks and $10.00 per hundred not $90 here $140, 125, 80, and 130 there every two weeks for 4 months. I could not find Ten Dollar Payday on line for several months and when I called the phone number listed I got a voice message that said they would get back to me but did not ask for my name or phone number and then hung up. My bank asked if I called the police. I dont' think this is the way to go. Any suggestions out there? I'm sending a letter to the loan company to see if I can get anywhere with them since they are now back on line. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help.

I don't know if you will get much help from the company . . . . Your best bet would be to do as your bank suggested and go to the police. They will have you file a police report, and you can show that to your bank as proof. Your bank will be more likely to cooperate with you when a report is filed. You can also contact your state's attorney general's office and file complaints against the payday loan companies . . . .
