We have such a diverse group here with one common thread. Debt, current or past and the pain that goes along with it. We have people from probably every state in the union. I think it is time that we start a grass roots movement to educate our lawmakers about the bloodsucking internet payday loan companies and their underhanded ways of breaking the laws of the states we live in and the way they feel that they are pretty much above the laws in general because they are on the internet.
Please everyone write to your Senators and Congressmem and get to get federal regulation against this industry. There are enough of us here to make ourselves heard. It is time that something is done before these companies start growing, and merging and have a lobby in Washington that will be too powerful. It is just a matter of time before one of these companies will emerg on the national scene and start praying on the people who are the most vulnerable. We must stop them now.
Write your representatives and tell them your personal horror stories of rollovers and interest and threats from here and abroad. Be heard. We can and will make a differnce. Also, please write the editors of your local papers and don't forget to plug this website.
OK I am climbing down from my soapbox now. Point made?

Suing helps the individual if the individual has the money to sue. Most of us would not have gotten here in the first place if we had the money. I would love to hire a lawyer from the naca.com site but they do not work for free or for a percentage only. Legislation is the long term solution. This is how the FDCA came to be and other regulation could follow if we have a big enough voice.

Think about the illegal fees and interest rates one pays to these sharks. If you get aware of the illegal practices of the pdl companies, you won't mind suing them considering that it would have already gone into their pockets. Like you said, legislation is a long term solution; in that case, suing definitely is the quickest way to stop these places. Moreover, if you win the case, you get compensated by the company for the damages done.

Thanks Moondanzer. I must say I am a little disappointed in the responses I have gotten. It seems that people have little faith in the system when I see the hits vs. posts ratio. I feel as if I have to fight this alone. I am emailing my Senators Nelson and Martinez today. I hope others do the same!
