Oh Hon...If I had found one, I would be sitting at home now not stressing about a thing.....

I have done a lot of looking for the same thing too and all I can find are pyramids. Some of them such as Mary Kay do not have that high of start up costs but unless you sell your a$$ off you never make any money.

I heard that about mary kay as well

There are a few companies that are legit. You use your computer and you take orders, you have to have high speed internet and VOIP phone service (which is really cheap) I have done this for a company and did it only for a short while because my last quarter of nursing school is hectic and I already work a full time job. Super Bowl Sunday I took orders for Pizza Hut in my home.

I know I cant buy it.......I'm a covergirl kinda gal :wink:

I do not know anyone who has money to waste on Mary Kay. I like Cover Girl, Avon, and Rimmel. Wet N Wild works good too. Last month in Oprah magazine there was an article on people that had been successful in at home businesses. Of course one was Mary Kay, which I can't stand, there was one for purses, which sounded like fun to me cause I love purses! I am just not into pushing people to sell stuff though.

Just curious, somebody is interested in legitimate work at home oportunity, I posted I have info. Do you read the posts or only the one's you are interested in hearing from?

Ok, drama aside....

The only legitimate work at home idea I've come across so far is selling on Ebay. However, I can't leave my 'real' job to do that full time, because I need the benefits. So right now, I'm working full time (40 hrs a week), selling on Ebay part time and cleaning houses part time. There are some ideas for you.

Steelers, that sounds like a great idea for a job you had - can you pm me the info? I'd love to work at home full time, and at some point, I'm going to work towards that end.

What I am about to say, isn't necessarily a work from home opportunity, it is just something I've learned.

I work in an office as a reinsurance broker, full time. I have a laptop. I do work from home 2x a week, (as well as after hours, but thats besides the point).

Recently (like yesterday) I was reading an article on gas prices. It suggested that employers let employees work from home at some points. Makes a lot of sense.

Let me tell you - telecommuting was difficult. I say was, because now that i've been doing it for 3 years, I have a system.

When you work from home, you're still working. You don't need to be concerned with the laundry, paying bills, etc. You need to focus, do you work. and save your house stuff for after 5, and lunch time.

This is difficult when kids are in the house. Luckily, my son is in school full time now, but that wasn't always the case. When my son was home, I instilled it in him, that just b/c i am home, doesn't mean that i'm not working. If i'm on the phone, be quiet, and wait until i'm done.

It takes a well disciplined person to work from home, but it is worth it.

I have sold over 3000 items on ebay but I got so tired of listening to people whine about shipping costs and all those trips to the post office. Then when I got myself in trouble I lost money and could not ship in time. I am an Ebay burn out

Steelers gave me some info a few months ago..I verify that it IS legit! Unfortunately they weren't taking people in my area.

BTW..Maybe I'm clueless, but where is the nastiness in this thread you guys are talking about? I have read this entire thread twice, did something get deleted? Am I missing something? Now I feel like I have to walk on eggshells..

Can't we all just love each other? I know a few drug dealers that have a successful work-at-home business. Another one of my customers just got arrested for being a pimp- guess his home business didn't go too well.

Love ain't for free. LOL. I'm sorry your customer got arrested, maybe you should've introduced him to the drug dealer, seems he knows how to keep it on the down low, he could've given the pimp some suggestions or lessons.

I need better phone service anyway. poptartsmom, I am actually going to start taking some classes in medical billing/transcriptionist for the reasons of working at home down the line. Can you give me some input?

I know you didn't ask me, but those medical billers make pretty decent money...I know that Childrens pays their coders like 16 bucks an hour...but they can make up to like 21 bucks an hour

I've been working from home as a medical transcriptionist for 15+ years and wouldn't have it any other way. The company I work for has provided the computer free of charge. The voice files are downloaded into my computer. I type the reports and upload them. When I started doing this, I was "grandfathered in." This is a legitimate business. I work full time and many times overtime and get paid the overtime rate. We even have benefits (health/lifedental/vision insurance, PTO, 401K, etc.). My cousin has a very sucessful Medical Billing Biz she started at home.. After taking the classes and learning the codes the Doctors to go after and try to get the biz from is Physiologist and Physiatrists (sp??) anyway most of these types of Doctors do not have the billing in the office they have no office staff. SO check around for what billing companys charge and under bid until you get going. I think you made need to be approved for Med-i-cal also but not sure.. My cousin makes about 60k a year.. one person out of her house maybe 30 hours a week..

Wow, that is great. I heard it is expensive to get started, is that true? I love transcribing. I had to take a machine transcription for my office administration degree. Can you do it part time? I would love to do something like this for extra money.

Just out of curiousity, do you guys think it is funny to make rude and offensive comments and hurt people's feelings or upset people? I know myself if I have nothing nice to say, I keep my mouth shut. I also am hurt when I know that I have done something to upset someone but I guess that is because I am a kind and caring person.

An awful lot of misguided energy here. What if it were used for a good purpose. Imagine. What did I start? I only asked about work at home. Thanks to those who stayed sort of on the subject. The medical billing is a good thing. I took an autocad class right next to a medical billing clas and was told by the student there is a huge dend for it.

I did comment about makeup but I also mentioned an article in Oprah, and what I thought of Mary Kay. I believe that applied to work at home. I was trying to be helpful. The attacks on people is really getting old.
