Debt Management program - Consumer Credit Counseling Service

Hi! I am new to this board, but I'm looking forward to looking over the information here. My question is in regard to debt consolidation. We have been with Consumer credit counseling Service for almost four years now, and we are FINALLY starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We are VERY close to having our first debts paid off, and I expect to be completely finished by next year.
My question has to do with our credit rating. I know that dealing with some debt management companies can give give you a negative rating on your credit report. I've pulled mine and I don't see anything about debt consolidation, only that most of our accounts are closed at our request.
Has anyone ever dealt with this particular company? What's your experience been? We've been very happy with them. And if you've gone through a consolidation company, how long did it take to repair your credit? My credit score is still pretty low, but some of my balances are still high, and I think that's probably why. I hope this makes sense!!
