i have an account for 1000 dollars and some odd cents that has been charged off and sent to collections, what are the chances i will be sued for oweing this money if i cant pay it, because ia garnishment would hurt my ability to pay my other living expenses

Really, there's no way to say what the chances are. You could probably avoid any chance of suit if you called them, explained your situation, and set up some payment arrangements.
