My life is ruined by my bad debts

I am from New Zealand. How my bad debt started: I was a young solo mother of three and decided that I was grown enough to get my own place, I was on welfare as well as part time working. So I got my place and needed furniture etc...which i got and thought $20 here and there was cheap, just jumped straight into it, then I thought getting a creditcard would be a good idea for emergencies, so instead of applying to one I applied to three thinking that atleast one will get back to me and they all approved it, so now three c/cards and I just went silly. I thought my life was great till it came to making the payments it ended up all adding up to quite a bit, next minute I am trying to make arrangements that I still couldn't keep, so ended up leaving it, worst mistake I made. I have a great job now for 2yrs and been trying very hard to work out a plan to clear it but getting nowhere. Its been a longtime I have held bad debt over my head and just want it gone, I have grown up a lot since then and would love to own a home one day which are now increasing in costs and be able to go on holidays, enjoy life with no worries. I am tired of being chased or hassled and Im not showing a good example for my three kids having to go through this, they can see how stressed out I am and feel it to. I am now 26 with terrible credit, I have a 7,6 and 4yr old. I would really like this sorted out, I have applied for loans through companies to pay one thing off here and there and ended up with another debt, it's been about 6-7yrs now I have had bad credit, some have given up on chasing me but I haven't given up and still trying to resolve it, I myself was not financially stable, had my ups and downs, I really don't want to file for bankrupcy but no one else can help me because of this and honestly I don't blame them why would they, I need someone to give me a chance to prove myself. My debt is with 3 banks for credit cards, one finance company and one retail company. I did this to myself and have to live with it but how do you deal with it or sort it out. I can't work two jobs so what else is there.....HELP ME PLEASE.
