I have been lurking and am trying to find the best way to get out of the PDL hell that I am in. I now have 8 loans out and am paying $600 every 2 weeks. I am trying to find out if the agencies are licensed. I want to send letter telling them to stop automatice withdrawals. Here's the kicker. My name is NOT on the bank account they are debiting. It is in my husband's name only. My checks go into his account...(yes, I know, it's a control thing which is an entirely separate issue and why I got into financial trouble, having NO access to my own hard earned money). So, in essence, I cannot close bank account and cannot tell husband what is going on...it wouldn't be a good situation. I need help immediately! Thanks for any advice on how to handle this one.


My advice to you first would be to tell your husband. I was in the same mess as you. I told him and we worked it out together. Second what state are you in? Go to http://www.paydayloaninfo.org and look up your state laws on payday lending. Unfortunately if these are internet loans closing the account is sometimes the only option because they just keep debiting the account. Take Care KYSIDE38

How does your husband not know already if they are debiting $600 every 2 weeks? Does he look at any of the statements? It would probably be best if you tell him and then proceed to follow the steps of closing the account and opening a new one..and then work from there.
