I have a 2nd mortgage that remained unpaid following a foreclosure. At the the time the home was financed I was married. I'm now divorced. I do feel obligated to pay my share of this loan and I want to repair my credit score. We have an outstanding loan amount over 60,000 and I only feel obligated to pay half. My share. Is this even possible? How do I do it?

That's already been established. She's responsible equaly as am I. I just want out either by paying for half or Bankruptchy which I really don't want to do.

Fancylug2000,
Is the second Mortgage sueing you for the unpaid 2nd? Was the 2nd a HELOC? This is important to know...
I would only pay them or settle if they attempt to sue you and obtain a Judgement. Check your states Staute of Limitations on being sued for a deficiency judgement as related to mortgages. If past the statute ( SOL)then, you don't legally owe them. Also, I wouldn't file a BK unless a judgement is actually obtained against you, and even then, I probably would still not file a BK unless they were actively seeking payment on the debt.
