I posted on here earlier about payday loans places. United Processing Divsion Legal something or other. The told me I am going to jail, I tried to get the info to even pay them the money 1800 which is going to make me homeless for my kids, but jail is not an option. Please help me! I have several loans out, but this company seems to have 3 of the loan companies, can i go to jail. I closed this account so they wouldnt take anymore money from me. WHAT DO I DO!!!!

I posted in your last post. NO you cannot go to jail. This is something that they do to scare people into paying them way more than they really owe. Do not fall for it. Contact your states AG and DFI also contact the ftc seeing as you still have the recorded message, I would also contact a lawyer because of the message they left. File these complaints ASAP. Also check your other post because there were more than me that replied. Plus DO NOT send them anything by money gram or western union, demand that you pay by money order only or cashiers check or a pre paid credit card. DO NOT give out any more info to them of your bank account, credit cards, debit cards etc.

I already contacted both those places and the places where the loans came from and did complaints. I talked to someone who said i should file bankruptcy on these right away and that would avoid them calling me at work and home. I just dont want to come home or go to work and me arrested. Is there anything i can do to stop the calls other then the above?

No you will not be arrested. This is a threat that they use. They will call you at work. You need to contact the person that answers the phone at your employer, like the HR dept. or the operator. They will ask to speak with you or your supervisor and if they are told no they cannot talk to you then they will go on and say that they will have you arrested. You need to inform the person answering the phone that they need to tell them that they know that cannot happen and to stop calling. Or you can call them back and tell them not to contact you at work. But that won't happen because when they have you on the phone they will try and scare you again. Do not fall for it. They will give you till like 2:00 to pay or they will have 25 people at your house. That is SO not true. They have no legal right. You cannot be arrested for defaulting on an internet payday loan. Because these places are not licensed anyway. Do a search on United processing or United Pay Services in the google search and read some of the things this company has tried just to collect the money.

Bankruptcy is a last resort. It should not be necessary with PDLs. How much have you paid them apready and how much were your original loans for and who are the PDL companies? Take care of your nessesities first. Especally your kids. You have probably already paid these people more than you legally owe them. Do not worry. They can't harm you in anyway. I don't know how they sleep at night.

Frogpatch is exactly right. Sit down, total up how much you borrowed and how much you have actually paid them back--and if it's more than your principal, demand that your accounts be marked paid if full or you will complain to your state's attorney general. They are not coming to throw you in jail. This is a common scare tactic that most PDL's use.

Those nasty sapsuckers. I had Jackson, Phillips and Associates do me the same way on May 11th. I was scared to death. They called me on my job telling they were going to arrest me at work if I didn't have over $500 paid by 1:30 p.m. that day. I am teacher's assistant in Brevard Public Schools and that day I was alone. So I couldn't help but cry because I didn't understand where this was coming from especially when I hadn't borrowed but $200 from the company. I didn't have the money and so my mom paid the money to keep me from going to jail. My sister who is stronger than me told me that I couldn't go to jail but I didn't believe her I thought the people were for real. It was Mother's Day weekend and I know I couldn't leave my sons. I have a job that I love and its pays better than any other job I have ever held so I didn't want to lose that. It wasn't until that night after the money was paid that I found this website and learned that I couldn't be arrested. I really felt dumb then because I dragged my mom into this scam. I have reported them to the FTC, BBB, AG and a reporter for the Florida Times-Union Newspaper. Now I want to take legal action but don't know what lawyer to look for to handle a case like this. But I am not giving up.

What is wrong with yorr soss? He should side with you and tell these scumbuckets where to go. Tell him they are criminals. Florida requires all PDLs to be licensed to loan here. If they are not licensed they can't collect. Florida is also a non garnishment State. There is no way for this company to collect from you, period, unless you permit it. and they know it. Thats why they try these threat. These people work on commision. If they collect they get paid. If they feel they are wasting their time they will go and harrass someone else. It is a shame that your boss is siding with crooks.

Ok so they are a legal company calling out of country? And if they are legal what are the ramifications for me? I did talk to my boss, and i guess the fact that they said i was commiting bank fraud using the name and address of the place i work has him alittle concerned. I am so stressed. I need this you know what's off my you know what! United Processing Legal Divison is legal. I dont know I filed a complaint in the state of FL and the lady there Lee Dixon said they had know juristicon.

I believe that it is against the law for a collection company to divulge any info regarding a debt to someone whose name is not on said debt. By talking to your boss about this they have committed a crime. Go to naca.net and find a lawyer in your area that will give you the advice that you need to bring charges against these people. I would alos talk to your local da and see if they can file charges. Get to know the laws in you state and file IMMEDIATELY with the FTC, the AG's office and the BBB. Let the collector know that you have filed complaints against them.

I would do what Irish told you to do, go to that site and find a lawyer. You still have the message they left you and they told your boss private info, that is a no no. You can sue them. Not only will you not have to pay them, but they should have to pay you for the laws they broke. Just calm down and tell your boss you did not commit bank fraud, the only thing you did commit is taking an illegal payday loan. The only time you used the companies name and address is for the info they asked for on the app. for where you worked. But check out that website and contact a lawyer asap, they should be more than happy to call those scumbags and put them in their place.

The stories are similiar in that both Collection companies have acted illegally. Get those complaints in and please send a certified 'Cease and Desist' Letter to these criminals immediately. The one who has a boss who was given information on your debt, please tell your boss that you are being illegally sought after and the information given to your boss was both slanderous and illegal. By the way, if this causes a job loss for you, because of their illegal tactic of telling your boss your debt info. you have a huge case against this collection company. Even if you have to get the Labor Department involved, act on this ASAP.
