Thought everyone would like to know that my co-worker got his check for hardship from his 401K. He will be mailing out his mortgage payment this week he said. I also got my gift check yesterday, so this morning I went by the bank and took out $100 (since I am replacing it), put the money in an envelope and just gave it to him, but did not tell him it was from me. I typed his name on the envelope along with a message inside telling him that I hope that this little contribution would help him in his time of need and just signed it "someone who is wanting to help". I figured that way I would not get an argument about him accepting the money. I just played it off as to not knowing where it came from and that it was left in the mailbox this morning. I think he knows where it came from, but cannot prove that it was me. The look on his face was priceless and now I have such a warm fuzzy feeling. I know my husband was a little upset that I was doing this considering how our financial situation is and has been, but sometimes you have to put others before yourself. I told him, if he had seen how this young man was trying to get overtime when we aren't really giving it and with one of his children sick and he just found out that another of of his kids has got a growth on one of his lungs, so they are testing him, afraid it might be cancer, so I feel this is the least I can do for this family.

Anyway, just wanted to give you an update.

I am so glad that he got the money and will be able to make his payment. That was SO nice of you to give him that donation. I know he appreciates it. My husband and I were talking and we really don't have the money but we also just gave some money to someone who needed it more than we did. We figure that some day we may need help and someone may help us out. I will continue to keep your coworker in my thoughts. I will really be thinknig of his kids...I hope its not cancer.

Thank you! I appreciate that very much. It really wasn't that big of a thing, but did make me feel good to do it. I was glad I was able to help anyway I could. Not saying it was an easy decision to make as far as giving him the money because I know how badly we could use it, but there was someone that needed it more. I think if I had seen that he wasn't trying to help himself, I wouldn't have done it or worked as hard as I did to try to help him with his 401K stuff, but he was trying. There are some I work with that I wouldn't do as much for, just what I needed to do and that would be it, but he was trying, so.

Anyway, do appreciate the comment. Thanks so much again.

Thanks...my husband called a short time ago and I told him about it and he said he was glad. I think he was just looking at how we are fighting to get things back on track, which I understand because I did too, and how much that would have helped and everything, but when I told him what happened to day and the reaction and what my co-worker is going through now, he was glad I did it, so that made me feel pretty good.

I'm glad to hear that he will be able to make his mortgage payment. What a sweet thing you did!! I think it's great when we can put others before ourselves. I remember when I've been able to help others out and it is a great feeling. It reminds me of the movie, Pay It Forward. How true is that? I think you did a good thing. I will praying for him and his family. I hope they hear good news :-)

It truly was a wonderful thing to do. And, remember all things good or bad always come back 10 fold. I truly believe that......it has always worked that way for me. You wait and see....you will recieve a blessing. Because you did it out of the goodness of your heart and for no other purpouse.
