Looks like all of those complaints are working and IL is paying attention. I know the OH AG's office said they don't take action unless they start receiving alot of complaints. That is why I always say complain to them, I know people think they aren't doing anything but the ARE, they just need the numbers to do it.

I originally called State of IL back in 2005 about a simple complaint: Payday Lenders that refused to accept payments.
Since I am in the finance business, often times I have customers that want to take a loan from me to payoff their outrageous payday loans. The problem has always been that PDLs would never accept my loan proceeds checks to payoff their account. So here I have customers that are trying to payoff their PDLs and the PDLs won't accept my check or MO.
When I first called the state, my simple question was "how can they refuse a payment?" The Asst Director of Consumer Credit had no good answer, but said "If enough people complain we will look into it and probably do something about it."
Since then I have always told my customers... the state won't do anything unless they get enough complaints. One or two people writing letters now and then don't mean anything. When enough people complain, it shows there is a serious problem.
Others have said it and I will emphasize it, COMPLAIN everywhere you can, at the state level especially. Your state offices keep statistics on the types of complaints they receive. When they see a large number of the same complaint coming in, it forces them to act in the public's best interest.

I can't agree with you more! The old sayimg the squeeky wheel gets the greese is my motto since I came here. I complain to every agency that I can think of the AG here in Ohio, the FTC, the Depatment of Treasury and Homeland Security. On the Homeland Security web site i sound that their ICE department is looking into cyber crimes, so I recommend that complaints be filed there also. They say that their investigations take a whil, but they do get the job done. I also cc the pdls the e-mails of complaint so that they know that I meam what I say. Steelers - I have listened to out AG many time since he took office and he is really taking the complaint agaist the pdls seriously.

It is good to see Illinois taking action against a lender. These places are nothing but loan sharks. I agree that the complaints our necessary to get our voices heard.
