Hello,

I just wanted to share my story. I actually found this page today when trying to look up a number that came across my cell phone. I currently live in Florida and well I feel that I have been swallowed by the payday loan sharks. I can not seem to get them paid or keep up with them. Now today I have payments due and with all my normal bills and the fact that my bank account was already overdrawn, none of them will clear. Come Monday I do not even want to answer my phone. I need help.

It all started with a few car repairs that I could not afford and then from one loan to the other as if I paid one off I needed another just to get by until the next payday. I am in so far over my head right now I can barely breathe. I am certainly not sure of what the outcome will be but I also have credit cards that are past due and other collections. Too many the dollar amount overall maybe small but to me I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am a single mom and I do get help from my fiance and childs father but he has his own debt he is getting out of and we are just trying to get ourselves together so we can have our wonderful wedding and get the home and cars of our dreams. Any suggestions? I am listing below the payday loan companies I am outstanding with and if anyone can help with suggestions on wage garnishments or payback that would be wonderful.

Route 66
Currently owe 225.00

AIP
Loan amount 200.00
Fee 89.00
Total 289.00

Cashnet USA
Total outstanding 440.00

Cash Transfer Centers
Total Outstanding 439.00

Cashnet USA has been great about working with me it really is this CTC that I am worried about as they keep saying they will garnish my wages at work. Call my supervisor and all that. I work hard but being a mom and having groceries and utilities working are far more important sometimes. I really am in deep. I also have two outstanding credit cards that need to be paid and am being called daily. I have told them all I can not be contacted at work but still they call. THey also call references and well my sister and brother are getting tired of the calls as well. Any suggestions? I am in need.

Thanks

Is there any way you can borrow money from a friend, relative, or fiance to borrow money to cover the overdraft fees? I would try that and then open a new bank account. Many banks don't let you open a new account unless you have cleared up the bank charges first. Also you could place stop payments for each company, fax them a letter revoking the authorization to further debit from you account. The best thing in the end is to close your account in order to regain financial control. I had to do that because I had 8 outstanding loans out, but I just paid off one today at the storefront! So down to 7. I closed my old account and am able to pay down my credit cards, rent, utilities, gas, and food...and it's so much more manageable! If you do open a new account, please don't give any places your new banking information. I made the mistake of doing this with a couple of companies, thinking I would be able to pay a couple more internet ones on my own, but I had to open another account soon. The other five I have written complaints to my department of financial institutions, and I have to make payment arrangements with Cashcentral and Cashnetusa since they are licensed.

Are these all internet lenders or are you also dealing with some storefronts? I would also concentrate on paying off the storefronts before the internet lenders because since they are licensed in your state, they can take civil action against you for non-payment. Next, I would concentrate on paying Cashnetusa since they are licensed as well.

It would help to know how much you have already paid to these lenders because in many cases, you may have already overpaid them and can send them a paid in full request.

Kylnn,
Welcome to the forums! Trust me, many of us here can relate to this. All the PDL's you listed are internet. Can I ask you how much you have actually paid them with rollover fees? Sit down and total this up, and if you have paid back more than the original loans, do not pay these companies another dime. Close your bank account, open another one and do not give anyone the information. This is the only way to get control back.
Demand that your accounts be marked paid in full (if you have overpaid the loans) or you will go to your state's attorney general.
Pay basic needs first!

How do I know what the States Fees are for Florida. I just sat down and added up as far back as I could get on the route 66 and it is really not pretty. I have paid a 79.00 fee from before November of 06 until April. One did not go through in April and they called and made arrangements with me to pay two 100.00 payments and one for 158.00 so two 100.00 payments came out in 4-20-07 and 5-4-07 and the 158.00 that was to be the final did not come out on the 18th due to NSF. I am adding this up thinking WOW that is over 1100.00 I have paid this company for a loan of 200.00 with a 79.00 fee. I have seriously lost my mind. Can I do anything? Please tell me that far surpasses the fees for the state?

The others I have I have just made one payment of 89.00 to AIP and then I have Cashnet that I have just made two payments to. One for 88.00 and one for 153.00 and the CTC or Cash Transfer Center well.. THey take the entire payback at once. So when the entire loan of 300.00 was not avail and the fees they called and said the total payback is 439.00 and has to be paid at once. I can't do it. I don't have it. So I am sure they will call my job tomorrow and try to garnish.

Let me know if you know the fees for my state or where I can look.

Thanks.

Have to run in a minute, but really quickly for you: call your payroll tomorrow and revoke in writing the voluntary wage assignment you signed to take out the loan with CTC. Fax it to them, get a confirmation sheet and call them and get the name of the person you spoke with telling you they had it. They will probably try and do this to you, but these documents will not hold up in a court of law--but definately revoke it ASAP. A garnishment in a court of law takes months, due to the slowness of the court system, so time is on your side--but CALL PAYROLL tomorrow and revoke the voluntary garnishment to be on the safe side, OK?
Let us know what happens!

Thanks. I will do that. I actually just logged onto the website and I was looking at the documents. It says nothing about a wage garnishment on them. It talks about multiple debits and fees for returned debits. I did find a cancellation page that you can print and fax in. So I may try to do that as well. I can make payments but they want it all at once. I can't do that. I noticed on the Florida info you sent earlier it states payments can be made. So I am going to see what I can work out. I am never doing this again... I have learned one huge lesson here.

Thanks for everything.
