Hello All. I think this is a scare tactic but just want to make sure. TJF Corp called my house this morning stating that since I withdrew their right to my account they are taking me to court TODAY at 2:15 in Florida. Any ideas/suggestions???

It surely sounds like a scare tactic. Have you checked the company if they are licensed in your state and following the laws. If not, then you can backfire using your legal rights.

How much loan do you have from them? And how much have your paid so far. Please go through the papers and plan your next move in dealing with the company.

I can only assume that you don't live in Florida?

It would be a little hard for them to take you to court in Florida if you don't live there. And if you only recently blocked their access to your bank account, there's no way they could take you to court in a matter of days - that kind of thing takes weeks, if not months. You have to be served papers, allowed time to respond, etc.

As trenity mentioned above, you need to find out more about this company, and let us know what state you're in, what company the loan is through, how much the loan was, and how much you've paid - then we can offer you more helpful advice.

And if you only put a block on their company name and a specific dollar amount in your bank account, be careful - some of these payday lenders are famous for changing the dollar amount slightly, or changing the company name they debit under so they can still access your bank account. Your best bet is to close your bank account and open another - that's the only sure-fire way to stop them from accessing your bank account completely.

Like the others said, they cannot take you to court in FL if you do not live in FL.

TJF is the bank that funded the loan but it is not the company that you signed the loan through. I do know that Bahamas Marketing Group uses TJF. Does this sound like the company you did business with? Because if it is then you were probably talking to someone from United Pay Services/ United Processing and they will use almost anything to get you to pay. I defaulted on one of their loans and United called me a couple of times before 8 AM and I file a complaint and told them off on the phone stating that you have my info and if you want my money then send a validation letter and I have yet to hear from them or got anything in the mail. But my states DFI is handling this one.

The next time they try and tell you that they are taking you to court in FL tell them that you know they have to take you to court where you live. And seeing as TJF bank is over seas, if they do take you to court the judge will probably throw out the case. Thats what my state told me. She wants one of them to take me to court, she said she would have fun with that.

Well the harassment calls have started. Kevin Peterson called and wouldn't let me talk. He said he was from an attorney's office and that I was being sued for fraudlent activity. He threatened that there would be a police officer at my house in one hour and if I have kids that I had better get them out of there because CPS would take them. First off. You DO NOT threaten me with my kids. He said that I should never taken the loan out if I couldn't afford to pay it back. Excuse me... I took the money out to cover the copay for my son's heart surgery and second of all. ALL payments were on time until I learned the laws (by this website) and that i had paid $750 on a $300 loan. And than he went there. He told me that if the cops showing up to take me away and the stress kills me son it will be my fault.. I couldn't help it. I called him a sand dirt bag and to never call me again and that I am calling the BBB, AIG office, and anyone else I can think of to make sure that company is shut down and he NEVER has the chance to threaten anyone like that again... AARRGHHH!!! Being a heart mom and on the board for a local heart support group I have know many children that have died and it is always in the back of my mind that one day it could be my child. ANYWAYS!!! Sorry for the long soap box. Who all do I need to contact. Oh, he said the company he was "REPRESENTING" was Debt Dr. which i think is Magnum. Is that right???

I-TJF is not a bank, it's an illegal, unlicensed lender out of Overland Park, Kansas. And "Kevin Peterson" isn't even in this country and isn't even "Kevin Peterson" for that matter. He's working out of an Indian call center for United Pay Services which does collections for iCollect which, in turn controls I-TJF. The whole thing is ripe for a RICO prosecution if anyone in the U.S. Attorney's office is paying attention.

Im not sure if its Tjf Corp or Loan Point USA. I have a pay day loan out with both companies. I was recently contacted at my place of employment by a Jack Austin who had an Indian accent. He identified himself as an officer with the state investigation bereau. He said I was going to be arrested at 3:00 for not paying my loan. I looked up his phone number and the area code is (216)920-0510. This company is based out of cleveland, Ohio. Anyone know of a payday loan company based out of Cleveland?

Send them another letter stating that you revoke your authorization to contact you at your place of employment or your employer and also that you revoke any wage assignment that you may have signed. Make sure a copy gets to your payroll dept, just in case they try to go that way. I had a loan thru Debt Dr and got it resolved. I would have to look when I got home who I contacted. I think it was Dennis Best, but do not have the address here at work.

Do not let these people get to you. They will use everything they can to try to get you to pay more money. No one is going to come and arrest you within an hour or anything like that. Let them know that you are aware of the tactics they use to try to get one to pay more money and that they don't scare you.

Hang in there! It is going to work out. Oh, make sure you get complaints filed with your AG and the BBB also.

This are the reasons why we need to be careful who we do business with. I know that debt can be stressful. Remember these big companies write off bad debt and if they don't want to work with you and your budget...forget them. Change your number if you have to, it is wrong for them to make threats like that.

Thank you debt samaritan, I will hang in there. I spoke with "Jack Austin" again. He said a legal lawsuit has been filed against me for bank acount fraud. I had my account frozen because my checkbook was stolen. I eventually had to close it due to my banks protocol. I tried to contact tjf corp and loan point USA but I can never get ahold of them! I have tried to resolve the debt but the number I was given for tjf is no longer in use. How do they expect us to resolve the matter if a situation like this comes up? Is this commiting bank account fraud?

Ty to all the people who have wrote these things about these fraudulent payday loan companies . I unfortunately went through them and had another loan put out through a company i didn't apply for named CMG LLC. Well after reading everyones info on the internet about tjf and cmg i called them immediately after they deposited the money and had them take it back . I had didn't have to lose my bank account and I didn't get screwed out of any money . Does anyone have info on who to contact on these fradulent companies because I had to threaten them and downright yell at them to get them to take the money back and I would like to get some revenge.
