What kind of advise are you needing? A few things I can think of is make sure you keep good records, keep your business account separate from your home accounts, understand that it can take time to start showing a profit and it may require working long hours and weekends to get things rolling. I am not sure what type of business you have started, but I am speaking from experience with working with my folks when they opened a convienent store may years ago, when my husband was trying to get his flooring business off the ground before we moved here and from my brother starting his own business. Maybe let us know what type of advise you are needing then we can go from there. Wish you all the best in your new business.

Oh, you are going to need a tax ID number for your business and you will need to talk to someone about how you go about paying quarterly taxes. That is something you will definitly need to stay up on.

As I go through I keep thinking of more and more things....keep receipts where you buy supplies for your business. Recommendation, do not put both personal and business stuff on one receipt. Can get confusing. If you are using a vehicle for business usage, you can claim your miles when you use that vehicle for business, so do keep track of that. Also, now check with a tax person, you may be able to claim part of your utilities and part of your house as a business expense.
