I read a little of the forum but maybe not enough...maybe I'm not looking in the right place. I'm not really that internet savvy. Anyway, I read about so many debt consolidation scams that I am afraid, how do I know which companies I can trust? Is there an article on that here?

Always research any company with the attorney general's office in your state as well as the state of their business. You should also get the feedbacks from the BBB and the FTC. There are many scams around, but if you have done the complete research, you will not end up falling into it.
