has anyone heard of this...please help if you can

They work for SST card services. In other words its one business and they have like different depts within that one business. They just pass debt around the departments and ruin your credit score. I just filed a small claims here in Alabama against them for 3,000. I paid a credit card bill from Providian before they sold out to SST, but they have been bought like 3 more times and don't have record of it. You should call SST Card Services. Refer to BBB and get the number.

I just received a letter from a collection agency, saything that they represent CIGPG1 CORP. For $3432.94, to my husband. I know he doesn't have any accounts he is paying on, so I signed on line and it is actually for me. I recognized the acct #, so I pulled some files. It is a Van that I had from Auto Nation back in 2002. I paid it off on 2/1/03, and received the title on 4/2/03. The payoff was $2131.59. The collection agency added 12 %, compounded, for $1320.92. I tried to call them, and I got a message.

A few yrs ago, I had an acct with Providian that I closed & paid. When I viewed my credit report some years ago, I saw the Providian acct which was no longer showing under the name Providian but WashMutual/Providian. I also had what appeared to be two accounts that I just placed question marks beside until I could investigate further. When I called the SST companies, I got no place QUICKLY! In pressing I learned that Providian sold the acct that was PAID!, to SST Columbus B&T-which reports a different account number. But SST-regardless of its suffixes and different account numbers- is one in the SAME! So on my credit file, I appeared to have three DIFFERENT accounts with $2200 - $3000 balances and derogatory payment info. I have disputed through the credit bureaus to no avail-YET. last week when I disputed the two SST accounts, I received an alert from equifax showing a new account- guess what? Now the SSTCigpf1corp has changed the name to TRSCigpf1corp. Well, that looked familiar too, so I searched some old credit reports and I see this "NEW" company on an OLD report. I had previously disputed TRS.. years ago and it had been deleted from my credit file-which is ammunition for me now, so I am happy for the NAME CHANGE. I checked the address and it is the same for the SST accts. They want to be tricky and just change the Prefix. At the time of this writing, May 27,2009, I plan on contacting the credit bureau(s) and BBB and disputing the accounts again using the responses on this website and my old credit reports that show these accounts being one in the same and not three; or now FOUR different accounts, as well as noting that TRS had been deleted previously under the same account number and how is it that it can return at any time. It amazes me how bold this company is, for they report under the same account number, just different names. Also, they change the addresses at leisure. It really appears that Providian intentionally sold paid accounts to this collection company and this is illegal activity. I pray all involved parties are uncovered and are prosecuted accordingly in Jesus' name.
