Yes Angela, some may try to garnish your paycheck. Here's what I e-mailed my payroll dept. a few days ago - Quote:
Hello, I recently had some fraudulent activity on my checking account, and had to close it out (hence my new checking account). I've been speaking with some people that have dealt with this company in the past & they've informed me it would be a good idea to send a wage revocation letter to my accounting department, as they may try to contact payroll and try for a garnishment (even though I have already paid them). I never physically signed a wage assignment either. Also, under Florida law, they can not garnish wages with out a court order in the first place. Should I interoffice you a revocation of wage assignment, or how do I go about letting you know not to honor any wage assignments that may come to the payroll department? Thank you, |

With this notice we will keep it on file. If we do get anything we will contact you before deducting anything. Do you have the name of the company? |
I gave her the name of one of my pdl companies that are known for garnishing wages, she said she'd contact me if anyone attempts to garnish. You may want to let your payroll know just incase any of them try to get your paycheck. There's a revocation of wage assignment letter you need to send the pdl companies and your payroll dept.
Yes, the companies will probably start calling once they realize your account is closed. It took mine a few days to start calling..some I haven't heard from at all but I'm sure I will. I would find out if any of the companies are licensed in your state (maybe someone else on here can give you that info?) and then if any of them are, I'd work on setting up a payment plan w/ them first.

I"ve actually contacted some and 2 of them told me not to contact them anymore as I've send them letters of desist. I'll make sure I send that letter to my payroll company as I do not want them to attach my wages. I did contact my AIG and they are prohibed in my State. So I guess just keep strong and see where it goes from here. Thanks for your help :)
I got this from one of the places is this good? Please do not
