Ok, here goes my novel of a story!

It's all happened over years so may get a bit confused on some parts! I've been married for 22 years and have 4 kids. We've ALWAYS had good credit with NO problems maintaining our debts month to month.
Then in October of 2000, my oldest daughter was diagnosed with cancer, her senior year in high school. Needless to say, we were devastated! She started treatment immeidately, 6 months of chemo and 6 weeks of radiation. 2 months into her tx my husband had a heart attack and we then found out he needed open heart surgery, quad bypass and after the surgery they diagnosed him with congestive heart disease! But we still continuted to maintain monthly. I guess it wasn't until about a year after treatments for both of them began we had another medical situation come up. My son, youngest child, fainted at school. I knew something was wrong, u don't just faint so i immeidately brought him in. They ran test and at that time we found out he has a heart defect, bicuspid aeortic valve. The medical bills started piling up and that became our first priority as all 3 of them needed constant medical treatment! The credit card debt came last!! The first tiem we sat down to figure out our medical about 2 years into this, we realized we owed over $40,000 in JUST medical!!
So as it goes my husband and my children's lives were WAY more important than ANY credit card we had and we started getting behind on the cc's. That's when the cc companies start screwing u! WIth all the late fees, raised interest, yada yada yada, we were in a serious bind! We went into a debt consolidation program about another year later but left out one small credit card we had, that was in my name! As time went on and we were catching up, living more comfortable once again for some reason the credit card i had stopped sending statements and by my own stupidity i stopped paying on it!
Needless to say, they charged it off and sold it to CACH and there begins my nightmare! And i think u know the story from there!
But i still say today, our medical was TOP priority to save my families lives! Mortgage, medical and utilities and jsut those 3 things took ALL we made, there was NO extra for anything! (and my husband is an engineer, he makes a good salary but medical can eat u alive) So what are u gonna do? Watch ur child or spouse die?!?! I think NOT!
Today we have paid ALL of our medical and try as hard as we can to pay as we go now as it's eased up a bit. So guess that's it......
CACH got me and i was naive and didn't do what i should have done with them but even from the very FIRST phone call i made to them, I begged to work out a payment plan but they refused......
And i could go on but i'll spare all of u! lol
