If you are a married man who's wife died and she left debt in her name only am I responsible for that debt?

No you are not responsible for your wife's debts unless the accounts are jointly signed by both of you.

The companies will try to recover the amount if she had any estate. So if you two owned any property together, that will be considered part of her estate and they could file a lien on those items.

My husband died and he had all the cc in his name and our house. We still owe money on the house and he has cc debt. My question is am I responsible for the house or can I walk away from it free and clear? It needs alot of work and I have no money. Thanks

You wouldn't want to do that! Debt is not that important, in the bigger scope of things. Killing yourself over debt is not worth it. It's just a bill. Try to think of it like that. Just a piece of paper. You will get to it when you can. Just take things one step at at time. Don't stress on the big picture. Take it one bill at a time, and sooner then you think things will be looking up for you.
