Ok today I just got a package in the mail from NCO. here's what the letter said. It contains a small letter from them that has a reference number, creditor, account number and total balance. This is followed by the last 2 years worth of credit statements from American Express.

Does that count as validation?

Yep,that is validation per most courts. You really don't need original contract unless the lawsuit specifies written agreement.Look at the final balance on the account and compare it to what they are collecting on.If both balances are correct,it has met the test.If this was me I would call American Express to discuss the account as they rarely sell their paper and they already have inhouse repayment plans.Ask them about the oasis program.

thanks Cajun and Brittanie. I would much rather deal with amex. Although about 6 months ago when my bills started getting behind, I tried calling amex and the person I talked to was very rude to me and said that if I didn't pay off the entire past due amount RIGHT NOW that i would keep getting charged $39 a month plus interest

yeah it basically comes down to who you talk to now see if you called in to me i would be happy to take your payments and everything from you and see if we could get something worked out for interest..but thats just me...not everyone here is willing to help others out...just depends on who you get,, and what country they are from lol
