If you are looking to sign up with a debt consolidation company, and signed up for the free counseling when you registered, a consultant will be contacting you soon. You'll definitely want to discuss your plans with them.

Please don't feel obligated to use their services - you may select any consolidation company you like. Their call is just to get you started on things and give you an idea of what's out there for programs.

$4,000 is a large amount to pay off in such a short time, but it's not impossible, if you work at it. You may even be able to do it yourself, rather than using a debt consolidation company. Sit down and take a look over your debts and your budget and see if there are ways to cut back and put more towards that bill.

If that won't work, you may have to stretch your plan out a little longer than you originally thought, but don't look at that as a bad thing - you have a goal in mind, it just might take a little longer to achieve it! :D

Welcome to the Community :D SueBee is right, you may be able to pay these off without consolidation. If you have been current, alot of companies will lower your interest if you tell them you are looking at another card that is offering lower interest. Also, on the other hand, if you are late or have missed payments, they will often lower interest, drop it and fees if you tell them you want to get this paid off as soon as possible, but can't due to the fees,it's worked for me. You might also consider getting a second job temporarily, my husband did, and that helped too! If you have questions, please ask..KAren
