Hi,

Im thinking about signing up for a AccountNow atm card, online bill pay, etc. Has anyone heard of them and if so, what are they like. They say I can have my paycheck direct deposited into my account there, have a paper check-draft through them to pay my bills from it online, use the atm card as anyother atm card, etc.

My question is , is this for real. Can they do all of this for a membership fee of less than $10.00 a month? What do the paper checks look like, has anyone every seen one? Your advise and suggestions as this time would be great.

Thanks,

I know somebody who has this card. And it is legit. You don't actually get a paper check, they are done electronically, but look like any other papercheck when you see a copy. It charges an ATM fee like any other typical ATM card from a bank, and your deposit can not exceed $999 (that is for one deposit at a time or deposits in one day can not exceed $999). Direct Deposit is free, but there is a fee if you go to load it at a store, I think loading is done through Money Gram. Usually can go to a WalMart and a few other stores, which when you give your zip code on the site, it will give you locations.

Also, there is a fee they charge, (most debit cards do) for each purchase you make with your card. It is usually like $1 per purchase, but if you sign up and pay a monthly fee, those purchase charges are eliminated, depending upon how much you use the card, the fee may be well worth it. There are other companies that do just debit cards, the other one that comes to mind is Green Dot. I think both are reputable, just pay attention to the additional charges each time you use the card, unless you pay the monthly fee to avoid them, usually like $9.99/month.
