Does anyone have any good recommendation about laptops? I am in the market for a new one and I'm not sure what to get. My last one was a Gateway and I don't want another one of those. I know what software packages I want. I was just wondering if anyone knew a good one that's affordable. :?:

In January I got a new laptop at Best Buy. It is a Compaq Presar

In January I got a new laptop at Best Buy. It is a Compaq Presario 304NR. I think it was on sale and we got it for under $500. I love it and it came with everything I needed. It beats the heck out of Gateway...I had one of those too and it was a piece of junk!!!

Do you have any little computer stores around you? I have found that having one built to your own liking is just as much as buying a name brand and they can put anything you want on it. MY sister just got a laptop from one of those places, built custom to her liking for about 450. Price depends on what you want to use it for....the laptop i want built for me is about a grand but I want a huge graphics card becaue I play a lot of online games and I want wifi
