I had an account go to charge off due to a job loss several years ago. I was able to reach an agreement with an attorney representing the credit card company in August 2002. I have paid on time each month since the agreement.

However, these payments do not show up anywhere on the credit report. Is it possible to have these payments reported to improve score?

Or should I just continue to pay and eventually the OC chargeoff account will drop off credit report?

It will be good for you to get the receipt from the attorney after they credit the payment to your account. The receipt of the letter is a good proof but you need to have some kind of document from them also. You should give them a call and ask for the papers. I don't think they should have problems in giving it to you.

In my opinion you should talk to the attorney regarding the receipt of the payment you have made. If your credit report does not include the details of the payments made by you, then in a way it will hamper your credit score. Your payment history plays a vital role in determining your credit score, thus have a word with the attorney who is representing the credit card company regarding updating the information in your credit report.
