okay I thought my bank account was supposed to close, well there was a cash advance attached to it, so they forced it open on friday and guess who all tried to debit my account. I had let me bank know previously that this was the reason it was closed due to the payday lenders. I have copies of the letters that I have faxed and email. What do I do next? :?

I heard some banks allow the debits within 30 days from pdl companies even after the account is closed. You should definitely dispute the charges by showing your copies of the account being closed. I don't know if they will sound helpful in reverting the charges. You must look for a different bank and open a new account.

File a dispute with the bank, get a statement from them, that the account is closed for good, and if they give you trouble, do not hesitate telling them that your next step is contacting the banking commision in your state, and the Attorney General. Keep us up to date on what happens, and you can also use the bank computer to show them this site.

Most of the banks that have this policy put it in the fine print of their user agreements . . . . So it's something you agreed to before hand.

If you know this going into it, you can take steps to prevent the account for being reopened. Tell the bank your situation, and ask them to put the account on deposit only, a hard hold, or an ach block before they close the account. That was the pdl's won't be able to reopen the account.

I would definately try to dispute with the bank. I was very fortunate on this one my bank worked with me. Hope it works out. KYSIDE38

Thank you for all of the advise. I told the banker last week when the account was forced open due to the cash advance I had with them, that they need to still put a hold on it and I also told him that I have faxed letters and emailed the pdl to not debit my account, so hopefully they will work with me because they were told as well. I will keep you all posted and thank you for the good advice. Gotta love this website.
