Like others I got caught up with payday loans and have had to get one to cover the other. The payments are more than I make and I would like like to be
able to pay something on each one. I have been threatened with going to jail by several of these companies for hot checks. What recourse to I have and can this happen? How do I stop the threats and phone call. I have even been threated to be arrested at my job.

You will absolutely NOT be arrested, they are LYING to you. Are these internet loans? Because that is the threat they love to use on people to scare exorbatent amounts of money out of them. Which companies are you dealing with? And what state are you in? I am hoping you closed your old account and opened a new one at a new bank. That is the only way to take back control of your situation and finances.

Is this the balance they say you owe or is this the balance of what you figured you owe them? How much did you originally borrow from these companies and exactly how much have you paid each one of these companies?

Have you sent any letters revoking their authority to debit your account and wage assignment? If not, you need to do that also and make sure you take a copy of the letters to your bank.
