People’s Bank

Get copies of your credit reports..They will tell you who exactly holds the account now.

I've looked and no one has reported having it. There was an atempt to settle with another Co, but when I called them they could only tell me that they do not handle People's accounts anymore.

That is weird..Maybe ask People's bank who they sell their accounts to? They should be able to tell you that...

Peoples Bank has been bought out by American National Bank.

Then I would call American National and see if they have any records on it. Possibly they do.

Does anyone have a phone # for american National? I googled the name and came up with several differant Co. that go by the name. Please PM me

This is strange. We did a refinance of our home last night. Part of what we wanted was to pay of People????????s and get that black spot off our credit report. Well they made several calls and talked to different companies and no one showed that we owed any money. They gave us the Mortgage with enough extra money to pay off peoples if we can ever track down the owner of the account. I guess our credit number is pretty good and there has been no action on the peoples account. I know I owe this money and it has been over 4 years since peoples reported that the account was closed and charged off. If I do not find the owner(s) will this come off my credit account after a period of time?
